By the request of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdiyeva received the copies of credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Chili to Turkmenistan Jose Manuel Silva Viadurre.
On behalf of the Head of the State, the Head of National Parliament congratulated the Ambassador on the appointment to responsible diplomatic position, having wished him success in consolidation of friendship, trust and understanding between two countries and nations.
Having expressed his gratitude for good wishes, Jose Manuel Silva conveyed warm greeting of the President of the Republic of Chili to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and best wishes to Turkmen people.
Having highlighted the importance of his mission, the ambassador assured that he would put all efforts for establishment of full-scale interstate dialog with independent neutral Turkmenistan that gained high international authority by its peace-loving strategy and progressive initiatives.
Priority directions of internal and foreign policy were the main subjects of the meeting where invariable adherence of Turkmen State to wide cooperation with the states of South America, constructive dialog with which are established in the last years, was highlighted.
Plenipotentiary representative of friendly country was informed in details on social and economic reforms implemented in Turkmenistan under integrated programmes and large-scale projects aimed at successful integration to the world economy relations. Special attention has been paid to the reforms in science, education, health protection and sports.
In this context, having expressed the admire of Ashgabat where V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games have been conducted with large success, the diplomat noted great importance of this grandiose event in consolidation of fruitful partnership in sport field not only in regional but also in global scale.
Speaking of the opportunities of beneficial partnership between two states, Jose Manuel Silva spoke of the interest of business circles of Chili in establishment of contacts with Turkmen partners specialized in transport, metal and mineral resources processing, chemical and textile branches, agricultural complex and electronics.
The work of the Mejlis in the context of democratic reforms was separate subject of the meeting. The intent on establishment of direct inter-Parliamentary relations as important factor of bilateral relations was expressed.
