Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan Mekan Ishangulyev and Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Anar Kerimov discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture. The meeting was held in Baku today, the official website of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan reports.
Welcoming the ambassador, Minister Anar Karimov stressed that the fraternal peoples of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, which have ancient historical ties, similar culture and traditions, have been friends and cooperate for centuries. The head of the department expressed satisfaction with the development of bilateral cultural ties.
The meeting discussed the “Program of cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Turkmenistan in the field of science, education, culture and art for 2019-2021”, discussed the prospects for cultural ties between the two countries, and exchanged views on possible joint projects.
Thanking for the warm welcome, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Mekan Ishangulyev noted the great potential for strengthening cultural cooperation. To this end, the diplomat stressed the importance of organizing film days, tours and other joint events in the post-pandemic period.
During the conversation, the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan within the framework of UNESCO and other international organizations was also noted, discussions were held on other issues of mutual interest.
