An apartment block сollapses in Ashgabat as a result of gas explosion

Today, on 16 July, at about 8 a.m. household gas exploded in one of the 4-storey elite apartment buildings in Ashgabat, allegedly in the 10th residential district located near Tashauz bazaar.

Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” reported that the neighbourhood was cordoned off. Relief and rescue operations are underway and the cranes are being used to remove concrete slabs.

The explosion occurred on the fourth floor. According to eye witnesses, the entire block of the apartment building collapsed. They claim there are fatalities and those injured.
