Italian fisherman Alessandro Biancardi caught the world's largest catfish, 285 centimeters long, sputnik.by reports.

Giant fish Alessandro Biancardi caught on spinning. According to the man, the fight with the catfish took almost 40 minutes before he managed to pull the fish ashore. After the photo shoot, the Italian released his trophy into the river.

If documented, Biancardi's catch will be a world record. The previous record belongs to the German Stefan Seuss, who caught a catfish 281 cm long.

Alessandro Biancardi has been a professional catfish angler for MadCat Fishing for 23 years.

“This monster is the result of 23 years of hard work,” comments the fisherman's colleagues.
