Anamjan Rustamova Becomes World Junior Weightlifting Champion

Turkmen weightlifter Anamjan Rustamova delivered an outstanding performance to win the gold medal at the World Junior Weightlifting Championships currently taking place in Egypt.Competing in the women’s 86 kg weight category, Rustamova lifted 110 kg in the snatch and 147 kg in the clean and jerk, finishing with a total of 257 kg.

Her impressive result secured her first place in the competition.She also earned a small gold medal in the snatch event.Rustamova narrowly outperformed China’s Linyu Su, who finished second with a total of 256 kg.

Armenia’s Emma Poghosyan claimed third place with 253 kg.This achievement marks Turkmenistan’s second medal at the ongoing championship.Earlier, Turkmen athlete Didarbek Jumabayev won a bronze medal in the 79 kg category.Rustamova’s victory highlights the growing success of Turkmenistan in international weightlifting and demonstrates the strong potential of the country’s young athletes on the global stage.
