Consultations were held in Beijing between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and China, reports the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The delegation of Turkmenistan at the meeting was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vepa Hajiyev, and the Chinese delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Ma Zhaoxu.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the key directions for the development of Turkmen-Chinese relations of a comprehensive strategic partnership.It was emphasized that impetus for interstate relations is given by constructive and consistent dialogue at the highest level, within the framework of which a wide range of issues are considered to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
The successful interaction between Turkmenistan and China within the framework of international and regional organizations, primarily the UN, was also noted. The parties also discussed priority areas of cooperation in the “Central Asia China” format.
The diplomats noted an effective trade and economic partnership, analyzed the progress of joint work in the fields of energy, transport and logistics, as well as in the humanitarian field.
