Ashgabat and Washington aim to further strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Senator Steve Daines of Montana, a member of the United States Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.During the conversation, the parties emphasized that an important component of Turkmen-American relations is cooperation in the fields of education, science, and culture, where joint programs have been successfully implemented for many years.

In particular, within the framework of the USA State Department's Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation program, scientific and cultural events are regularly held in Turkmenistan.The head of state noted with satisfaction that Turkmen youth are studying in the USA as part of international educational programs, and that bilateral contacts between higher education institutions of the two countries have also intensified in recent years.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed intention of Turkmenistan to continue to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties that promote rapprochement and mutual understanding between the two peoples.
