Ashgabat Celebrates Indian Holiday Diwali

The Embassy of India together with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan organized the celebration of Diwali, also known as the Unity Day of India, in Ashgabat. The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, international organizations, diplomats and cultural figures.

The Ambassador of India Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat expressed gratitude to the Turkmen government for assistance in strengthening cultural ties between the countries.In turn, the Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Nursahat Shirimov noted that thanks to the efforts of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi, bilateral relations have reached a new level of development.

According to the Turkmen official, cooperation between the countries is actively developing in all areas, including cultural and humanitarian. This is confirmed by regular performances of Indian creative groups, film screenings and other joint events held in the Turkmen capital.
