Ashgabat to Host Conference on Turkmenistan-OSCE Cooperation Development

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, in a regular online meeting on Friday proposed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov the organization of an international conference titled "The Role of Neutral States in Strengthening Security and Trust in the Region of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe" in Ashgabat during the first half of this year.

The conference aims to emphasize Turkmenistan's neutral status in fostering peace, security, and sustainable development, as reported by official Turkmen media.

Meredov's report outlined plans to invite permanent representatives of OSCE member states to participate in the event.

The Foreign Minister also introduced the initiative to host a regional meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe in Ashgabat in May. This meeting seeks to enhance bilateral collaborations in supporting Turkmenistan's policy of neutrality, involving the participation of parliament members.

The Foreign Minister proposed organizing a visit by the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to Turkmenistan in March this year. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the proposals and directed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure the organization of all planned events at a high level.
