The International Day of People with Disabilities is approaching, in honor of this event, the Society of the Blind and Deaf of Turkmenistan (SBDT) is holding a creative competition for people with disabilities. All members of society living in different regions of the country can take part in it.
Already now, various creative works are sent to the e-mail of a public organization, from poetry to creative handicrafts. All products will be on display at the exhibition scheduled for December 3rd.
The Festival of Creativity is held annually by SBDT, accompanied by concerts and original performances of the participants. This year, due to the current epidemiological situation in the world, the concert part of the festival will not take place in order to prevent the safety of the contestants. Nevertheless, all exhibitors will receive commemorative diplomas.
The competition is divided into two stages. Regional participants also passed the regional selection. Having won prizes in their cities, the creative works of the contestants reached the capital.
There is a training and production enterprise with creative workshops under the Society of the Blind and Deaf of Turkmenistan. The guys here learn to sew, knit, work with wood and other materials. Hardworking students show their initiative and surprise teachers with unusual crafts made with soul and imagination.
“Our society annually holds fairs on the day of disabled people and on Christmas,” says the head of the mass organization department of the SBDT public organization Jemal Kurbanova.
We give the opportunity to all members of society to express themselves and demonstrate their talent.Here the guys not only study, but also get to know each other, communicate with each other, they do not have to get bored.
Indeed, looking at the works of the contestants, you understand that the word “disabilities” does not fit in any way with what amazing products are created by the hands of SBDT members. What can we say about the philosophical verses of original poets? Here is an excerpt from a poem by the contestant Hussein Kadyrov:
Ata baş maşgalada döwlet baýlykdyr, Eneň bolsa, ýaşaýşyň toýlukdyr. Akmaga bahasy ýeke şaýlykdyr, Garrynyň altyndan gymmatdyr sözi. Hiç haçan ynjytmaň ol ezizleri.
Ata mähri deňi- taýsyz duýgudyr. Ene mähri ody öçmez söýgidir. Saňa gezim, seýil oňa gaýgydyr. Garrylaryň gelinçäň ýolda gözleri Hiç haçan ynjytmaň ol ezizleri.

Father, head of the family wealth and prosperity, And mother is the joy of life. A fool’s price is no more than a dime Only the wisdom of years is dearer than gold. Do not offend them … never!
Father’s love is like the good of the world And mother’s love is the unquenchable fire. Your frivolity is sadness for them But, nevertheless, they will wait and believe Do not offend them … never!
