Asphalt laid in Turkmenabat ahead of the car rally

In the run-up to the start of “Amul-Khazar” car rally, pavements are being repaired in Turkmenabat (formerly, Chardjou) and roads are being paved with new asphalt.

On the one hand, the city inhabitants are outraged by the fact that this is done for the visitors who are expected to attend the event rather than the city residents as prior to the event the broken roads had been ignored for a long time.

On the other hand, however, they are content that it will be easier to walk the city streets, especially for the elderly and mothers with baby carriages.

Let us recall that the car rally will be launched on 9 September in the ancient town of Amul, located 10 kilometers from Turkmenabat. The President of Turkmenistan is expected to take part in the racing event.
