The Organizing Committee of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games has sent an official invitation to the Paralympic Committee of Turkmenistan to participate in the championship of the continent among people with disabilities.
The Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) of Turkmenistan Yusup Jafarov informed Turkmenportal about this.
The games will be held from 9 to 15 October 2022 in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. Athletes from 45 Asian countries will take part in the competition, the program includes 22 sports.
Paralympic athletes of Turkmenistan will be represented in two disciplines - para powerlifting and para athletics.
Masters of sports of international class in para powerlifting Mayagozel Ekeeva and Sergey Meladze have repeatedly become winners and prize-winners of prestigious international competitions (Asian Para Games Guangzhou 2010, Incheon 2014, Jakarta 2018, World Cups and Asian Championships).
The mascot of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games is the Chinese bird Feifei, which, according to legend, brings happiness. This talisman was sent by the organizers of the tournament to the NPC of Turkmenistan along with the official invitation.
