Athletes of the national weightlifting team of Turkmenistan successfully performed at the Asian Championship in Tashkent

The national weightlifting team of Turkmenistan took part in the Asian Weightlifting Championship held in Tashkent.

In the women's tournament, Turkmenistan was represented by: Yulduz Dzhumabayeva (weight category up to 49 kg), Kristina Shermetova (up to 55 kg), Polina Guryeva (up to 59 kg), Gulnabat Kadyrova (up to 71 kg) and Aysoltan Toychyyeva (up to 81 kg).

And in men - Seyitjan Mirzayev (up to 61 kg), Maksat Meredov (up to 73 kg), Rejepbay Rejepov (up to 81 kg), Rustam Annaberdiev (up to 89 kg), Ovez Ovezov (up to 109 kg) and Hojamuhammed Toychiev over (109 kg).

Seyitjan Mirzaev won a silver medal in the snatch in the weight category up to 61 kg, in which 13 athletes from 10 countries were competed for the awards.

Turkmen weightlifter Maksat Meredov won two silver medals - in clean and jerk and total combined.A 21-year-old student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, a graduate of the school of higher sports skills, achieved this success in the weight category up to 73 kg with a personal record of 336 kg (snatch - 147, clean and jerk - 189). 10 athletes from 9 countries competed for medals in this weight.

Three medals were brought to the collection of the national team of Turkmenistan by the master of sports, coach of the sports school of the Gurbansoltan eje etrap of the Dashoguz velayat Gulnabat Kadyrova.

In the non-Olympic weight category up to 71 kg, in which 6 athletes competed, the 26-year-old weightlifter training under the guidance of the Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Ahmed Saryev, won gold in the snatch (102 kg), bronze in the clean and jerk (121 kg) and silver in the total combined event (223 kg).

Two bronze medals - in snatch and combined event - were won by the master of sports from Mary velayat Aysoltan Toychieva.The 24-year-old weightlifter of the Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Ikram Matkarimova achieved this success in the non-Olympic weight category up to 81 kg, in which 8 athletes from 7 countries competed for awards.

On the sum of two exercises, Aysoltan gained 218 kg (snatch - 96 kg, clean and jerk - 122 kg)

Another medal - bronze, was won in the weight category up to 81 kg by the 29-year-old Master of sports Rejepbay Rejepov. 10 athletes from 9 countries competed for awards in this weight. Having collected 341 kg (156 + 185) on the sum of two exercises, R. Rejepov finished in third position and gained bronze medal.

According to the results of the Asian Weightlifting Championship, the athletes of the national team of Turkmenistan won 1 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals.
