Turkmen athletes took part in the opening ceremony of the II Games of the CIS countries, which was held in the capital of Belarus. The large-scale sports forum brought together guests and participants from more than 20 countries of the world in Minsk, BelTA informs.
The standard-bearer of the Turkmen team was freestyle wrestler Zyyamuhammet Saparov, who won a gold medal at the Asian Youth Championship in Bishkek in June this year.
Turkmenistan is represented at the Games by 82 athletes who will compete in 13 sports. The competition will last until August 14 and will attract more than 6 000 people, including more than 4 000 athletes.
