AZAL Airlines orders 12 passenger aircraft of the A320neo family from Airbus

AZAL has placed an order for 12 Airbus A320neo family aircraft, including A320neo and A321neo liners.

The signing ceremony of the contract took place on Thursday in Baku, the official website of the Azerbaijani airline reports.

The new aircraft are part of AZAL's fleet renewal strategy aimed at operating modern, fuel-efficient aircraft to increase the airline's efficiency and competitiveness. It also aims to provide a high level of passenger comfort on all aircraft in its fleet. The choice of engines will be made by the airline at a later stage.

Currently, AZAL's fleet includes 14 Airbus aircraft - 4 A319ceo aircraft, 6 A320ceo aircraft, 2 A340 aircraft and since the beginning of the year - 3 new generation A320neo aircraft.

The Azerbaijani airline plans to use efficient aircraft of the A320neo family to develop its domestic and international route network.

The A320neo family is the world's best-selling narrow-body product line with over 8 700 aircraft on order.
