Former US President Barack Obama took part in the creation of the script for the thriller “Leave the World Behind” from Netflix together with director Sam Esmail, write “Argumenty i Fakty”.
According to the director, Barack Obama acted as a consultant. Sam Esmail consulted with the ex-president about how events in the real world might develop. Obama, having read the scenario, commented in several places that certain events were either unlikely or too gloomy.
The film “Leave the World Behind” is based on the novel of the same name by American writer Rumaan Alam and stars Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke and Kevin Bacon.
