“Barcelona” will play next season at the “Montjuïc” stadium

“Barcelona” have officially notified the Spanish Football Federation that they will not play matches at the “Camp Nou” stadium next season. The Catalan club is starting the reconstruction of the arena and for this reason the 2023/24 campaign will be held at the “Montjuïc” Olympic stadium, writes Marca.

It is reported that the reconstruction of the “Camp Nou” and the adjacent sports facilities will cost 1,5 billion euros. Now the club is in the final stages of negotiations with a number of funds that will sponsor the construction.

“Barcelona” will not be able to return to the “Camp Nou” until November 2024.

The “Montjuic” stadium was built in 1927. It is capable of receiving 55 926 spectators. From 1997 to 2009, “Espanyol” played their home matches at this arena.
