Begmurad Otuzov, one of those disappeared in Turkmenistan’s prisons, dies in Ovadan-depe

According to the sources of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, Begmurad Otuzov, former head of the investigation department of Turkmenistan’s National Security Committee, who was sentenced to a 25 imprisonment term in 2002, died in Ovadan-depe prison in early February.

His body, which weighed 45 kilos according to the sources, was handed out to family.

According to the campaign “Prove They Are Alive!”, Begmurad Saparbaevich Otuzov was born in Dashoguz velayat (province).

On April 2, 2002 he was dismissed “for serious shortcomings during the period of work in the National Security Committee of Turkmenistan” and deprived of military rank and state awards.
