President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent his condolences to the President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, the ruler of the Principality of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Emirates, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in connection with the death of His Excellency the Minister of Finance of the United Arab Emirates, Deputy Ruler of the Principality of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
The head of the Turkmen state also expressed on behalf of the people, the Government and on his own behalf the words of deep empathy and support in this difficult moment to the relatives and friends of the deceased, as well as to the entire fraternal people of the United Arab Emirates, the “Vatan” news program of Turkmen television reported.
Sheikh Hamdan died today in Dubai at the age of 76.He was the second son of the late ruler of Dubai, Rashid bin Said Al Maktoum.Sheikh Hamdan took the positions of the Minister of Industry and Minister of Finance of the UAE immediately after the creation of the state in 1971.
In 1995 he became Deputy Governor of Dubai.He also held many other posts and positions, including representing the UAE at the International Monetary Fund and at OPEC.
