In Turkmenistan the draft of the Program of development of bicycle sports for 2021-2025 was prepared.President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was reported on it today at the governmental video session by vice-premier for science, education, public health services and sports Mammetmyrat Geldiniyazov.
The program is aimed at creation of conditions for increase of skill of Turkmen bicycle racers and advancement of their positions in the world rating, growth of popularity of bicycle sports.
In Turkmenistan it has become a tradition to organize mass bicycle races on the occasion of significant dates, the country also was noted in the Guinness Book of Records by bicycle actions for healthy and sports way of life, and under its initiative the United Nations declared June 3 World Bicycle Day.
And in October this year in Ashkhabad the world championship in track cycling will be held.Berdimuhamedov at the government meeting instructed on organizational preparation for this superiority of the planet, having noticed that active sports diplomacy of the country is included in foreign policy strategy of the country which is even more often selected as a venue of large international competitions.
The head of the state charged to finish the project of the five years’ program of development of bicycle sports and stated recommendations about it.The president also noted necessity of modernisation and expansion of infrastructure for development in the country mass bicycle movement, including creation of bicycle parking, special shops and workshops, bicycle tracks and bicycle rental points.
