Boxers from Turkmenistan won 7 medals at the 2023 Asian Junior Championships

The Turkmenistan men's boxing team won seven medals - one gold, three silver and three bronze - at the 2023 Asian Junior Championships in Astana, reports “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

Championship awards in 13 weight categories were competed in total by about 200 young athletes from 23 countries - Vietnam, Hong Kong, India, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Palestine, Tajikistan, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Philippines and Japan.

In the tournament among the youngest, Turkmen boxers won four medals. Dayanch Durdynepesov (weight category up to 63 kg) rose to the highest level of the podium. Sanjar Hamrayev (up to 48 kg) and Abdylla Hojayev (up to 50 kg) received silver awards, and Seitjan Babajanov (up to 54 kg) received bronze awards.

In the championship among juniors, the Turkmen team won three medals: silver was won by Aziz Klychev (up to 57 kg), and bronze by Ihlas Bagtyyarov (up to 75 kg) and Mustapa Muhammetdurdyev (up to 92 kg).
