Business digest: the main economic news of Turkmenistan from March 6 to 11

Finance and Economics

Monitoring of the key economic document of Turkmenistan - the National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022-2052 - will be carried out by a new structure - the Strategic Advisory Council “Turkmenistan UN”.

Fuel and Energy Complex

The “Turkmenneft” State Concern is intensifying work on deep well exploration and production of hydrocarbon resources in order to increase hydrocarbon production volumes in the country.

At the upcoming International Forum on attracting foreign investment in the energy sector of Turkmenistan in Paris, high-ranking speakers are expected, including OPEC Secretary General Haitham al-Ghais, IEA Executive Director Fatih Birol, UNECE Executive Secretary Tatyana Molchan and others.

Agriculture and Water Management

A number of joint-stock companies in Turkmenistan engaged in the production of dairy products and butter will be transferred to the jurisdiction of the State Association of Food Industry, created in February of this year, to improve the supply of quality food products to the population.

Turkmenistan called on Afghanistan for the rational use of water resources in the region during a meeting organized in Ashgabat as part of the visit of the Afghan delegation from March 4 to 6, headed by acting Minister of Industry and Trade Alhaj Nuriddin Azizi.

The State Association of Food Industry of Turkmenistan will hold a tender for the supply of 70 045 kg of sugar beet seeds that meet international standards.

Business

In the Parahat-7 residential complex in Ashgabat, it is planned to build 28 buildings for trade and consumer services at the expense of members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET). A corresponding tender has been announced for this purpose.

In Turkmenistan, preparations continue for an exhibition and conference dedicated to the 16th anniversary of the UIET on March 17-19. More than 200 members of the Union will present their products at the show.

Within the framework of the Turkmen-Afghan business forum in Ashgabat, a meeting of women entrepreneurs of the two countries was held, at which opportunities for further cooperation in the field of carpet weaving, art, handicrafts and the textile industry were discussed.

International cooperation

Romania invited Turkmenistan to organize an exhibition of its products in the Romanian district of Prahova to deepen and expand trade and economic cooperation.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan will become a full member of the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic States. This decision was announced at an extraordinary meeting of the General Assembly of the association with the participation of representatives of the Turkmen side.
