For all who cannot imagine their life without car, on January 29 should be a real holiday. This day, 135 years ago, on January 29, 1886, German designer Charles Benz issued the patent for mechanical vehicle.
The vehicle was a little similar to the modern car, however, all began with it. His invention Benz named Motorwagen. The first-ever car could run at 16 km/h.
Only three units of such cars were made. Two of them completely disappeared, and the third can be seen in a museum in Munich. The exhibit condition is estimated as very good, it is possible even to ride the car.
For today, according to the data of the consulting company LMC Automotive, in the first half of 2020 in the world 32 million new cars and light commercial (LCV) cars were sold and by 27 % less than the similar period of 2019.
China supervising almost third of world sales, confidently occupies the first line. The United States which conceded in 2009 superiority the second. The last of the three leaders is Japan. Russia, with falling of sales by 2, 3 %, has moved from the 11th to the 12th place.
The most popular brands became: Toyota Group 4, 0 million cars (-23 %), Volkswagen Group 3,7 million (-27 %) and Nissan Alliance Renault 3,4 million (-32 %).
In the first half of 2020 Toyota, having realised 3, 45 million cars (-21,4 %) reached 10,6 % of share of the world market. In recent years the share of the market of this mark fluctuated between a minimum in 9, 2 % (in 2016 and 2017) and a maximum in 10,2 % (in 2019).
Every year the quantity of cars grows in the world with more and more fast rates. To define their exact figure in planetary scale it is almost impossible.
The matter is that rules of registration of vehicles and reporting registration in the different countries strongly differ, and some cars can remain not properly executed simply. For this reason to calculate their quantity it is possible only approximately.
The freshest researches were held by the International association of motor-car manufacturers (OICA) in 2015.
According to experts, at that point in time in the world 947 million cars and 335 million commercial cars were used.
Year before similar calculations experts of analytical company Navigant Research made. They did not consider heavy off-road and building transport. As a result analysts counted 1, 2 billion cars. Thus 95 % from total number of registered units of technics made light cars.
Under forecasts of Navigant Research, in the near future annual sales of cars can grow to 126, 9 million pieces. At such indicator by 2035 the world motor car park will reach two billions.
