Turkmen karateka Davut Nazmyradov has won the silver medal in the men’s under-75 kg category at the 20th Summer Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, securing Team Turkmenistan’s first medal of the Games.The 22-year-old athlete advanced confidently through the tournament, defeating Kyrgyzstan’s Nazim Nurlanov 72 in the quarterfinals.In the semifinals, Nazmyradov faced Syria’s Fawaz Bani Al-Marjeh.
The bout ended 00 after regulation time, but the Turkmen athlete was awarded the victory by the judges through hantei, earning his place in the final.In the gold-medal bout, Nazmyradov narrowly lost to Iran’s Morteza Nemati, 34, and finished the competition with a well-earned silver medal.
