Demand for Petrochemical Products Grows at Turkmen State Exchange

The total amount of transactions concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan over the past week exceeded $9.567 million, TDH news agency reported on Saturday.

Businesses based in Russia, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan purchased colorless sheet glass, denim, dyed terry products, and cotton yarn for foreign currency.

In addition, companies from the UAE, Panama, and Afghanistan purchased aviation kerosene, motor gasoline, hydrotreated diesel fuel, base oil produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries for foreign currency. Businesses from the UAE also bought urea (Türkmensenagat Export-Import OJSC) and polyethylene, and the UK-based business bought ECO-93 gasoline (Türkmengaz State Concern).

The Switzerland-based company purchased the electric car Tesla Model X for 70 thousand euros.

Businesses from Scotland, the UAE, Turkey, and Kazakhstan purchased cotton yarn for a total of over 27.42 million manats.

Domestic businesses bought high density polyethylene and polypropylene (Türkmengaz SC), hand-made carpets and cotton fiber for a total amount of around 79 million manats for the local market.

State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan registered a total of 253 transactions last week.
