On 7 June 2018 President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov familiarized himself with the designs of new construction projects, according to the state-information agency TDH.
In particular, the following projects were presented to the head of the state:
Designs of two luxury hotels Nusay and Garagum, which are scheduled to be built in Ashgabat;
a new residential neighbourhood where 62 apartment blocks, a kindergarten, school, 10 10 (!), a market and a shopping and entertainment centre will be built;
two waste water treatment facilities in Ashgabat;
a new residential neighbourhood in Turkmenabat, where 39 apartment blocks, 170 cottages, a school, two shopping centres and two customer service centres are scheduled to be built;
bus stations in Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats;
63 cottages in Аvaza. The funds will be allocated by companies listed in Turkmenistan’s Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists;
A monument in one of the roundabouts in Avaza;
A motorway Ashgabat-Turkmenabat, along which motels, shops, pharmacies and filling stations are scheduled to be built;
The state information agency does not specify what construction companies will be carrying out the project and where the funds will be allocated from, except cottages in “Avaza”.
