1.The national holiday of the Turkmen people, Oraza Bayram, will be celebrated on April 10, and therefore this day will be a non-working day in the country.

The corresponding Decree was signed by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.The document requires that this decree be implemented by all institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership.

2.President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the agro-industrial complex and velayat hyakims.

The progress of seasonal field work in the country was discussed at the meeting.Currently, in accordance with agrotechnical standards, cotton is sowed, wheat crops are cared for, as well as potato and other vegetable crops are planted and cared for.

In addition, work is underway to conclude contracts with silk producers and provide them with silkworm beans.

3.National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, congratulated Valentina Matvienko on her anniversary and awarding her the title of Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation.

The interlocutors focused on further enhancing the interstate dialogue, noting that in recent years, bilateral cooperation in energy, trade, transport and agriculture has received a new impetus.Issues of active partnership in the cultural and humanitarian sphere and inter-parliamentary contacts were also touched upon.

4. In Turkmenistan, the new Law “On Hydrometeorological Activities” has been officially published and entered into force. The new law defines the legal, economic and organizational foundations of hydrometeorological activities in the country. It regulates the production, transmission, storage and use of hydrometeorological data, including weather forecasts, information on water resources, and agrometeorological conditions.

5. The Embassy of Belarus in Turkmenistan announced the transition to a pre-registration system for submitting documents and conducting a personal interview when obtaining visas to enter the republic. The innovation comes into force on April 15, 2024.

6.The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Russia and the Moscow International Arts Festival “Sounds of Dutar” named after Nury Halmamedov organized a gala concert in Moscow “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.

The concert was held at a high level and became another evidence of the development of cooperation in the field of cultural relations between Turkmenistan and Russia.

The annual rainfall in this Indian city reaches 11 873 mm, which is 18 times more than in St.Petersburg.The rains here do not stop: intense downpours can last a week or even longer.

In June 2023, 1003 mm of rain fell in one day in Mawsynrama - more than the annual average for London.This city has been called the rainiest place on Earth.

Such heavy rainfall is partly due to the city's location at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level, as well as the influence of warm and humid air from the Bay of Bengal.

8.Turkmen weightlifter Davranbek Hasanbayev won a license for the Olympic Games in Paris.He achieved this success at the World Weightlifting Cup in Phuket, where he won a gold medal in the snatch in the weight category up to 102 kg.

In the double event, the Turkmen athlete showed the fifth result - 392 kg.In the snatch exercise he held a barbell weighing 187 kg over his head, and in the clean and jerk he showed a result of 205 kg. “This is an amazing feeling, and not only for me, but for the whole team”, - Hasanbayev commented on his success.
