The solemn ceremony dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held on Tuesday at the Soviet War Memorial in Berlin's Treptower Park.
The ceremony was attended by diplomats of Turkmenistan, Russia and some countries of the CIS, Asia and Africa, residents of Berlin, guests of the German capital, and journalists. They traditionally laid flowers at the foot of the monument to the Liberator Soldier, TASS reports.
Thousands of people annually visit the memorial in Treptow Park on May 9, which was erected in honor of the fallen soldiers of the Soviet Union in the Battle of Berlin in 1945. Here are their fraternal burials.
