For the sixth time in the past eight years, British music company Phonographic Performance Limited has recognized Ed Sheeran as the most popular singer of 2022, according to The Guardian.
Sheeran's rating was based on analysis of streaming platforms, radio songs, radio broadcasts, and public mentions. Ed Sheeran first entered the top five most popular artists in 2012 with the release of the album "+", and in 2021 his album "=", which has sold more than 900 thousand copies, was certified triple platinum in the UK in 2021.
Phonographic Performance Limited's Top 10 Artists of the Year also included Dua Lipa (#2), DJ David Guetta (#3) and Taylor Swift (#10).
