Erdogan wins second round of Turkish presidential elections

The current President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, won the second round of the presidential elections. This was reported by the Anadolu.ru agency with reference to the CEC of Turkey.

“According to the results of counting more than 99% of the votes, the incumbent head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan won in the second round of the presidential elections,” the report says.

According to Ahmet Yener, Chairman of the Supreme Electoral Council of Turkey, according to the results of counting 99.43% of the ballots, Recep Tayir Erdogan scored 52.14%, and Kemal Kılıçdaroglu - 47.86%.

It is worth noting that a simple majority of votes was enough to win in the second round. In the first round, held on May 14, Erdogan lacked less than 1% of the vote to win.
