European horse lovers will have a unique opportunity to get to know the graceful Ahal-teke horses better

The Ministry of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan held a briefing on preparations for a unique international event: the World equestrian championships and the Ahal-teke beauty contest.This large-scale forum is scheduled to take place from the 4th to 6th of September, 2026, at the popular equestrian centre Pilbergen in the city of Kronenberg (Netherlands).

During the briefing, Chairman of the State Association Türkmen atlary A.Berdiyev emphasised that, thanks to the consistent state policy implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the tireless efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag, large-scale initiatives are being implemented in the country.

They are aimed at strengthening international authority of the state and widely popularising its unique national treasure the Ahal-teke breed of horses.The upcoming European Championship offers exceptional opportunities to showcase to the world the rich Turkmen culture, centuries-old traditions, and modern achievements of domestic horse breeding, as well as the exceptional craftsmanship of national producers and artisans, said the head of the relevant department.

A.Berdiyev paid special attention to the structure and content of the exhibition and fair zones that will be located on the site of complex.The Türkmen atlary pavilion will be dedicated to the multifaceted activities of the industry.

Here, visitors will be able to learn about the achievements of Turkmenistan in breeding and gene pool conservation, as well as about the care of Ahal-teke horses and the measures taken to popularise them.

The pavilion of the Ministry of culture of Turkmenistan is designed to reflect the deep spiritual heritage of the people, its historical and cultural values, and the dynamic development of contemporary national art.

An exhibition of jewellery and applied arts will be presented here, which will become one of the central elements of the exhibition.Visitors will be able to see unique examples of national jewellery, elements of traditional horse harnesses with characteristic patterns from different regions of the country, as well as paintings and sculptures that celebrate the unrivaled beauty of these paradise horses.

To demonstrate the unique interaction skills between humans and their equine companions, a separate, specialised area with an arena will be set up within the exhibition space.Demonstration performances by the world-famous Galkynyş national equestrian games Group are planned at this venue.

Spectators will see the most complex elements of trick riding, stunts, and classical dressage, director of the association shared.Summarising the program of the upcoming forum, A.Berdiyev placed special emphasis on the fact that holding a large-scale exhibition and fair in the heart of Europe will be a significant contribution to strengthening international image of Turkmenistan as a country with a glorious history, a rich cultural heritage, and the highest level of professional expertise in one of the most ancient fields of humanity horse breeding.
