Films from 65 countries will be presented at the Moscow International Film Festival

The 45th Moscow International Film Festival this year will be held from April 20 to 27. This is one of the oldest film forums; it has been leading its history since 1935.

The geography of the participating countries of the Moscow International Film Festival is expanding - this year it will feature films from 65 countries from all regions of the world.

In particular, Chinese filmmakers will show 23 films in various programs of the festival, France - 18 films, Spain - 15, USA - 12, India and Iran - 10 each, Mongolia - 2 films.

This was stated at a briefing on Wednesday by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

More than 30 international premieres are expected at the festival. Many of the films presented at the film festival are devoted to the socio-economic problems of young people and the cinematic understanding of the issue of the need to bridge the gap between generations.

The jury of the main competition this year will be headed by the famous Indian cinematographer Rahul Ravel. The chairman of the jury of the documentary film competition is one of the leading Chinese directors Hao Yun, short films - the Italian director, screenwriter and actor Giorgio Cugno.

The film “Bullfinch” by Boris Khlebnikov will open the film festival. At the closing of the Moscow International Film Festival, “42 Seconds” directed by Alex Morelo and Dani De La Orden, a sports drama filmed jointly by Spain and France about the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, will be screened.
