Fine arts as a way to learn the world

Ashgabat co-working center “Iş nokady” has long become a universal platform for the implementation of creative ideas and projects. This week, a master class was held in a creative space on graphics and architectural drawing.

Young architect Jeren Sabirova, a graduate of the Belarusian National Technical University, shared her knowledge of drawing with a lead pencil in the field of shading, perspectives and rules of black-and-white modeling.

The audience was offered several exercises to practice hatching techniques, as well as training in drawing still lives and a task of a graphic sketch of a street.According to Jeren, knowing the secrets of the correct construction of a drawing, it remains only to improve the drawing skills and techniques, since the process of working with slate, watercolor and colored pencils is almost identical.

Drawing in modern life with high speeds and stressful situations has become a perfect way to relax. For example, art therapy (art treatment) has become firmly established in the methodology of psychological aid.

Psychologists have proven that creative activity helps to cheer up, raise self-esteem and know yourself. And watching paintings by famous artists can influence the emotional state of a person.

In November, Samsung Corporation launched a virtual exhibition Disappeared Masterpieces and Lost Art which includes 12 digital paintings by known artists. Unfortunately, the exact location of the lost canvases is currently unknown. These paintings have been put together so that art lovers anywhere in the world can enjoy and may be help in the search for missing artworks.

One of the most expensive masterpieces is the Portrait of Dr.Gachet (1890) by Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh.In May 1990, the portrait went under the hammer for 82.5 million dollars.

It was bought by Japanese businessman Reye Saito, who wished that after his death he was cremated together with the famous painting. However, in 1996, when the collector went from hence into the other world, the painting disappeared without a trace.

There were rumors that the painting was sold to an unknown owner through an international investment fund.

In addition to historical masterpieces, the collection includes the painting Chloe and Emma by Czech artist Barbora Kysilkova stolen right during the exhibition.A completely absurd story with the theft of two works by a still unrecognized artist became the basis for the documentary film The Painter and the Thief.

The premiere took place this summer at the Sundance Independent Film Festival.Fortunately, the thieves were found, and the painter had established friendly relations with one of them, and she even painted his portrait.

For more information on the virtual exhibition, which will run until February 10, 2021 inclusive, please visit.

However, in order to feel the works of art, one need to visit museums more often, develop an artistic taste and watch the original paintings. Reproductions do not give the desired effect. The true art awakens feelings, thoughts and emotions, and this is the main goal of art therapy.
