Residents of Fuzuli in the Republic of Azerbaijan sent a letter of gratitude to Turkmenistan’s National Leader and Chair of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, acknowledging his initiative to support the construction of a mosque in the rebuilt city, Azerbaijani state media reported Wednesday.
The letter says the initiative is seen as a contribution to the revival of Karabakh and a symbol of close friendship, spiritual solidarity and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
The project will be funded by a charitable foundation named after Berdimuhamedov that supports children in need of care. The private company Aga-gurluşyk will serve as the general contractor.
Berdimuhamedov also sent a congratulatory message to President Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan’s accession to the Consultative Meetings of Central Asian Heads of State.
