GIZ Delivers Equipment to Turkmenistan for Digital Phytosanitary Certificates

Turkmenistan’s State Plant Quarantine Service under the Ministry of Agriculture received a shipment of equipment from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The delivery includes a server with components, laptops, monitors, printers, and other devices, Turkmen official media reported Friday.

The integration will streamline coordination between phytosanitary services in Central Asia and other regions, enhance phytosanitary safety, and modernize the certificate issuance process.

The next phase of the project will include developing software for the national ePhyto system, testing electronic certificate exchanges between countries in the region, and upgrading the qualifications of State Plant Quarantine Service staff.

The equipment transfer is part of the regional project “Facilitating Trade Procedures in Central Asia” for 20242026.
