The grain harvest is in full swing in Turkmenistan.With the blessing of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, farmers in the Dashoguz and Balkan velayats, along with other regions of the country, began harvesting on the 10th of June.
Representatives of velayat and etrap hakimliks, public organisations, elders, experienced agronomists, machine operators, and wheat growers took part in the festivities that unfolded in the northern and western regions to mark the start of the harvest.
In keeping with a centuries-old tradition, the elders offered a prayer to the Almighty for a successful harvest.Then, the venerable elders, having cut the first ears of wheat, handed over symbolic sheaves to combine operators.
Powerful combines deployed in the fields of the Dashoguz and Balkan velayats began harvesting the golden grain.Strengthening food security of Turkmenistan and saturating the domestic market with high-quality domestic products are key priorities of state policy, successfully implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
In this regard, the country places particular emphasis on developing grain production, efficiently using arable land, and scientifically based yield increases.To improve living conditions, the state provides significant incentives and comprehensive support to agricultural producers.
Providing tenant farmers with high-quality seeds, mineral fertilizers, water, and modern equipment, as well as timely payment for harvested crops, motivates farmers to work productively and successfully fulfill their contractual obligations.
Farmers in the Balkan and Dashoguz velayats are fully prepared for the current season.During the sowing campaign, farmers in the northern region used high-yielding wheat varieties adapted to local soil and climate conditions.
Modern equipment is being used to harvest the harvested crop, and mobile repair and maintenance teams will ensure its smooth operation around the clock.Appropriate working and rest conditions have been created at field camps for those involved in the campaign.
Trucks will deliver the wheat to receiving stations, barns, and elevators.In the Balkan velayat, the plan to grow a bountiful winter wheat harvest is being consistently implemented, with strict adherence to agricultural standards and proper crop care.
Grain growers in the western region of the country have carried out the necessary preparatory work to effectively utilise every day of the harvesting season.Combine harvesters, distinguished by their power and high productivity, have entered the fields.
To ensure uninterrupted operation, they are provided with sufficient spare parts, fuel, and lubricants.In the Dashoguz and Balkan velayats, as part of the celebrations marking the start of the harvest season, exhibitions of agricultural products and modern agricultural machinery were organised at the edges of the wheat fields.
Musical gifts for the grain growers were prepared by pop and folk singers, as well as dance and folk groups.The wheat harvest season in the northern and western regions of the country was preceded by training and production seminars, where issues related to the organisation of the mowing campaign and the coordinated operation of the entire grain harvesting conveyor were discussed.
Thus, the ceremonial start of the grain harvest in the Dashoguz and Balkan regions resulted in a vibrant and memorable celebration.
