“Barbie”, starring Margot Robbie, has become the highest-grossing film in the history of world cinema, shot by a woman director, reported the publication Hypebeast.

Greta Gerwig's “Barbie” has broken the record previously held by Patty Jenkins' “Wonder Woman”. At one time, “Wonder Woman” grossed 823 million USD at the box office, but “Barbie” grossed 365 million USD on its first weekend, and on July 31 worldwide rental fees exceeded 800 million USD.

For the lead actors of “Barbie”, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, this film also became the highest-grossing film of their careers.
