During a telephone conversation between the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the prospects for the further development of traditional bilateral cooperation based on the principles of mutual benefit and equal partnership were discussed, TDH reports.
Both leaders emphasized that for centuries the Turkmen and Tatar peoples have maintained close ties based on common cultures, similar languages, a common religion, as well as mutual respect and equality. Regular meetings and negotiations at the highest level are clear evidence of friendship between peoples united by common spiritual values.
Currently, Turkmenistan and Tatarstan effectively cooperate in various areas, in particular, in the oil and gas industry, shipbuilding, chemical industry, and the supply of aircraft and trucks. Trade and economic ties occupy an important place in Turkmen-Tatarstan relations; large Tatarstan companies successfully operate in the Turkmen market.
An equally significant aspect of bilateral relations is the humanitarian sphere, including science and education, as well as the training of qualified personnel.
“We intend to continue to increase effective cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan, which is an integral part of Turkmen-Russian interstate relations,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.
At the end of the telephone conversation, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and Rais of Tatarstan wished each other health and further success in responsible government activities, and well-being and prosperity to the fraternal peoples of the two countries.
