Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Uzbek President Talk OTS Summit Agenda

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Turkmen bicameral parliament Milli Gengesh, and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in a phone talk on Monday discussed the agenda of the summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) to be held later this week in the city of Samarkand.

The phone talk also considered the current issues of developing and intensifying the Uzbek-Turkmen relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership, according the Press Service of the President of Uzbekistan.

At the outset of conversation, the Head of Uzbekistan conveyed greetings and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan.

The sides highly appreciated the fruitful outcomes of meetings and events at the highest level during Uzbek President’s official visit to Turkmenistan on October 20-21 this year. They underscored the importance of practical implementation of agreements reached and signed, including through the continuation of active inter-parliamentary contacts and exchanges.

Turkmenistan is expected to become a full member of the OTS at the organization’s upcoming summit in Samarkand on November 11.
