The national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the commemorative medal Magtymguly Pyragynyň 300 ýyllygyna and a memorable gift set, marking the 300th anniversary of the great poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy, as reported by the news program Watan habarlary on Tuesday.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed the relevant decree.
Members of the Halk Maslahaty, representatives of major public organizations, and citizens of the country initiated the award. They presented the medal to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov after a meeting of the Council of Elders at a charity foundation named after him.
During the ceremony, the national leader expressed gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and noted that the works of Magtymguly Pyragy represent a vital spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty emphasized that the medal would serve as an incentive to continue efforts toward the country’s prosperity.
