Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to the city of Arkadag, during which he got acquainted with the progress of the work being carried out here, the Watan news program of the Turkmen television reported.
On the way, the head of the highest representative body of people's power inspected the highways of the new city that meet modern requirements, the road surface, bus stops, then stopped at the building of the city's fire safety service, inquired about its equipment.
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty visited the Communications Department of the city of Arkadag and got acquainted with the ongoing work on the digitalization of the city, talked with the specialists of the Department.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov examined the sketches of projects with extensive information on the modernization of the activities of the profile structures of the city of Arkadag.
During the working trip, the National Leader of the Turkmen people also got acquainted with the night views of the city of Arkadag.
We remind that the city of Arkadag, which will house approximately 70 000 people, is being built on an area of 950 hectares, 30 kilometers southwest of the Turkmen capital. “Smart” residential buildings controlled via a smartphone, a square with a flagpole, buildings of the hakimlik and other institutions have been built here.
The construction of this mega-project was started in 2019.
On March 24, 2023, the Law of Turkmenistan came into force, according to which the city of Arkadag is assigned a special legal status - a city of state significance.
