The National Leader of Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held a series of meetings in Ashgabat with heads of state, leaders of international organizations and official representatives who arrived to participate in the international forum marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, according to state media.
Berdimuhamedov received President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Following Turkmen tradition, the high-level guests were presented with bread and salt and flowers.
He also held talks with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu, UN Deputy Secretary-General and Head of the UN Office in Geneva Tatiana Valova, and Director of the Institute for Global Innovative Studies of the Republic of Korea Kim Jin-pyo.
The meetings highlighted the significance of the Ashgabat forum as a high-level platform for discussing issues of peace, trust and sustainable development. The sides exchanged congratulations on the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and noted the country’s contribution to regional stability.
The participants exchanged wishes for further successful cooperation.
