During his working visit to Hungary, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the 16th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) in Budapest.
Speaking as a member of the Council and an honorary guest, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty put forward several initiatives.
As reported by the news program Watan of Turkmen television, one of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's proposals was the creation of its own media outlet for the Council of Elders of the OTG. In particular, the National Leader of the Turkmen people proposed to establish a newspaper, magazine or website for the Council of Elders.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also noted that the newspaper Zaman has been published in Turkmenistan since 1991 jointly with Turkish colleagues, and it is still being published today.
