Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to Erdogan and Assad in connection with the powerful earthquake

Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov today sent deep condolences to President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad in connection with a strong earthquake that led to numerous human casualties, injuries and large-scale destruction.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed on behalf of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan and on his own words of sincere empathy and support to families and friends of the victims at this difficult moment, also wished for a rapid recovery to the injured, the information program “Watan” of the Turkmen television reported.

Let’s remind that on the territory of Türkiye and Syria occurred several earthquakes with a magnitude of more than 7 points this morning.They also affected neighboring countries.

According to the latest data, the number of earthquake victims in Türkiye has increased to 1,651 people and more than 1,000 in Syria.The death toll could be much higher.

As per the words of Erdogan, this catastrophe become the largest natural disaster in Türkiye since 1939.

Because of numerous victims of the earthquake, a national mourning has been declared in Türkiye, which will last until February 12.
