Half of kindergarten teachers to be made redundant in two districts of Lebap velayat in March 2021

Radio “Azatlyk” reported on 8 February, 2021 that the administration of kindergartens in Farap and Charjev etraps of Lebap velayats were informed that they would need to lay off 50% of their staff in March.

Local officials explain that the redundancies have been caused by the economic downturn, which is exacerbating.

According to a correspondent of the Radio, “the situation in many kindergartens of Lebap velayat is critical. Parents claim that the quality of food and education is declining and hygiene requirements are not complied with.

It was reported a few days ago that children in Ashgabat’s kindergarten are suffering from malnutrition. Porridge made with rotting vegetables is served to them.

In late December 2020 correspondent of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” reported that effective 1 January, 2021 many public sector and state-run organizations of Turkmenistan will be laying off staff.
