On 2 April the VIII convention of Turkmenistan’s Democratic Party was held.
At the convention Kasymguly Babayev, who had been a party leader since 2013, was relieved from the position of the Party Chairperson as he assumed a new post.
Ata Serdarov was elected a new Chairperson of the Party.
In March 2015 Serdarov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Belgium, was appointed the head of Turkmenistan’s Representation Office in the European Union pursuant to the Presidential decree.
It should be mentioned that there are only two political organizations in Turkmenistan the Agrarian Party and the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
