High-ranking officials from overseas to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the new leg of TAPI project

On 23 February the festive groundbreaking ceremony for the Afghan leg of TAPI gas pipeline project will be held in Turkmenistan.

Several officials from other countries will participate in the events.

PakistanToday reports that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is scheduled to arrive in Turkmenistan with an official visit.

According to the news outlet, President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani and Indian Minister of State for External Affairs MJ Akbar will attend the ceremony.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy Parviz Shakhbazov is expected to pay a visit to Turkmenistan, according to Interfax.az.

Let us recall that during telephone conversations held in Late December 2017, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov also invited President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and President of India Ram Nath Kovin to take part in the events.
