This rating has been held annually since 2018 and has already gained sufficient popularity. It reflects the impact of universities on society based on the success of educational institutions in achieving the UN SDGs.

The final list includes more than 1,500 Higher Educational Institutions from 110 countries. The collection of materials and documents for the formation of the rating began in the fall of 2021, and the results were published on April 27, 2022.

The International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakaev took part in the implementation of the SDGs listed below:

SDG 4 - Quality education; SDG 7 - Affordable and clean energy; SDG 9 - Industry, innovation and infrastructure; SDG 17 - Partnership to achieve the goals.

At the same time, the Oil and Gas University managed to enter the top 800 universities according to SDG 4. It should be noted that the Higher Educational Institutions of Turkmenistan were included in the list of such a prestigious rating for the first time.
