HMD and Heineken present “boring phone”

HMD Global has partnered with Heineken and streetwear brand Bodega to create the Boring Phone. This is more of a social project than a commercial product, aimed at those who are tired of the constant presence of gadgets in life. Techcult.ru reports this.

Boring Phone is a push-button phone with a 2.8-inch retractable QVGA display. It has minimal performance, does not support applications, but gives you the opportunity to remember the legendary “Snake”.

Equipment includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack, Micro USB, FM radio and a 0.3 megapixel camera. The battery capacity allows the phone to work up to 20 hours in talk mode and up to a week in standby mode. 2G, 3G and 4G networks are supported. “Boringphone” is enclosed in a transparent case.

However, the phones will not go on sale. 5 000 copies will be given away in competitions, quizzes and other social events. The action is designed to draw attention to the problem of the negative impact of smartphones and social networks on people’s mental health.
