In the language of a modern dance about the Sustainable Development Goals

The dance festival “Sustainable Development Goals: on the occasion of 1000 days of the Global Agenda 2030” took place in the Cultural and Business Centre of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat.

The cultural event was organized by the by the Music Society of Turkmenistan and the United Nations with the support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The representatives of the diplomatic corps, accredited in Turkmenistan, the specialists of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, the SDG Training Centre as well as the connoisseurs of the art of dancing attended the festival.

The dancing groups BLACK FIRE, Banshee Crew, ART MOTION, Pray for fox, DANCE FLOW, Exclusive, Stem Style, SKY LIBERTY, JEYRAN-GOLD, Crystal, FLASH among others presented the thematic performance.

Each performance was dedicated to one of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through modern dances.The thematic performance conveyed the ideas and principles of Agenda 2030 through contemporary choreography with its core idea to improve the world peace.

The culmination of the dance festival was the flashmob, dedicated to SDGs in Turkmenistan and the global partnership in the interests of sustainable development, performed by the festival participants.

In conclusion, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, Ms. Elena Panova awarded the letter of appreciation to the Music Society of Turkmenistan, as well as certificates and gifts to all participants.
